Ftl ships tier list. To unlock enter the mantis homeworlds sector red with a crew teleporter and a med bay level 2. There is only one ship in this tier as it easily stands above every other ship in the game. Everything below is obsolete with ae. One of the best parts of ftl is the variety of ships you can play with. Since ftl is a game of rng you want to minimize any variance as much as possible. The only ship ive piloted which more restarts let alone anywhere near as many is the dreadful engi b.
The universe of ftl is inhabited by friendly and enemy ships. However all ships were not created equal thus i have created a tier list of them based on their ability to beat the game on hard ranking them 1 28. Now this list is split into two starting weapons and store weapons. I may attempt to add the new ships to the tier list after some derusting and playing the new ships however i am currently in college nearing finals and am also invested competitively in other games so no promises. Completing the game with rock ship also unlocks stealth cruiser. Starting weapons can only be found aboard the ship that has them i include crystal weapons because getting to the crystal sector to buy them is an extremely rare and difficult.
Ive divided the 28 ships into five main tiers based around different levels of overall strength. Each ship starts with varying systems weapons power levels. The one exception in amazing tier would be the pike beam and thats because its fairly easy to get something to break through shields and the trade off is immense. So ftls been out for a while and i figure weve all had enough time to let our opinions of the different ships settle and i thought itd be fun to rank them. With the advanced edition update ive started playing ftl again after a half year hiatus. The weapons at the top of the list are consistently effective in almost any ship set up.

Halberd beam and leto is an awful awful starting arsenal good for sector 1 2 if youre lucky.
